In the former soviet union this wine is well known for its quality and flavour. The wine grapes are harvested only when enough sugar has been formed in the berries to permit a natural retention of sugar at an appropriate alcoholic content. GWS has taken considerable lengths to search out these small vineyards that have this variety and maintain it on the vine to ensure grape quality and the necessary harvest conditions. Through this persistence GWS is proud to be the major producer of the wine in Georgia. Try with cheese, various fruits, beef or as dessert. Tasting Notes: The wine is purple and shows obvious rich sweetness when swirled around the glass. The nose exhibits soft ripe berry fruit with touches of blackberry and blackcurrant. The palate is rich and soft showing good fruit presence and fullness. The tannins, although present are more than compensated by the rich sweetness of fruit and sugar. The finish is Sweet and lingers in the mouth with balanced acidity and fruit. This wine should be consumed within one year of purchase to truly enjoy the rich black berry tones. It can however be matured and will mellow to a clean port style of wine that can be enjoyed as an aperitif. Content: 0,75 Liter Alcohol: 11,5 % vol.
